On April 25th & 26th, the third annual World Fast Draw Assoc World Championship was held at the Mother Lode Gun Club in Jamestown. We had a total of 37 competitors from all over the US and Canada.
Nicole Franks of Canada set 4 new world records for the women and Jon Wilson of S. CA. set one mens new world record. The fastest shot of the contest, .284 was by many time World Champ Nicole Franks. That's almost a quarter of a second to react to the signal light coming on, grab the gun from a hands off position, cock & fire the gun, and hit the target to stop the timer. If you blink you missed the whole thing.
Colby Qualls age 13, was the only Junior to make it to the contest so he won the Junior class. He also beat 8 of the adults competing with a fastest time of .373.
Womens winner was Nicole Franks. Men's winner was Mike Pantano from Kansas, who over the two day shoot beat me by 5 hundredths of one second.
Competitors were competing for over 8 thousand dollars in cash & prizes, including three custom made holsters from Bob Mernickle.
We are already planning for next year. Admission for spectators is free.
